Biography OF Rajneesh .

At present, I am working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NIT-Kurukshetra (Institution of National Importance) since 6th of February 2013. Prior to the post, I had been working as Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of UIET-Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra from 3rd May 2011 to 5th February 2013. Presently I am member of BOS (Board of Studies) of Mechanical Engineering Department, NIT-KKR. Also, I am member of DAC (Department Advisory Committee) of Mechanical Engineering Department, NIT-KKR.I have more than 11 Years of teaching experience at different institutes. I have published 30 papers in various Journals/Conferences of National and International repute. I have attended one Orientation Programme at UGC Academic Staff College during my service at Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra.  I have attended more than 10 workshops and faculty development programmes nationwide. Recently, I organised a short term course on Research Methodology and Thesis Writing: An Interdisciplinary Approach, during March 11-12, 2017 at NIT-Kurukshetra. Presently, supervising Five Ph.D. students Six M.Tech. students at N.I.T. Kurukshetra, Haryana. So far I have guided Thirteen M.Tech. students at N.I.T. Kurukshetra. Also co-guided Four M.Tech.  Dissertations at University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kurukshetra University, Haryana. 

I am actively involved in the research in area of  Thermal Engineering, Experimental Heat/Mass Transfer, Solar Thermal Energy, Renewable Energy, Liquid Desiccant Air Conditioning and Bio-Energy. I have given many expert lectures in and out of the parent Institute on various topics related to Heat Transfer, Air Conditioning and renewable Energy.

The energy is essential to all human beings as it not only pilots the national economy but also leads to the technological development of the country. Thus, there is a need to use some alternative systems to reduce the energy consumption largely through the utilization of some energy efficient resources. Desiccant dehumidification cooling system shows promises as energy efficient air conditioning systems. Thus, I am presently involved in designing, developing and evaluation of liquid desiccant air conditioning system for human comfort to meet such requirement. Liquid desiccant cooling system have several advantages over solid desiccants such as low air pressure drop with simultaneous cooling during dehumidification, low required regeneration temperature and storage of concentrated desiccant for non-sunshine hours. It will be beneficial for the society to achieve cooling at lower price and this system will be beneficial especially for hospitals, cinema halls, shopping malls because liquid desiccant technology is energy efficient, eco-friendly and cost effective to conventional air conditioning systems.

Also, the experiments have been conducted for enhancement in bio-gas production as well as methane content in bio-gas by using Nano-particles. A small test facility for the same has been established at NIT – Kurukshetra.

In near future I wish to have Research facilities/Research Center for Renewable Energy especially Bio-energy and Solar Thermal Energy at NIT – Kurukshetra.

I wish to have sponsored project in coming future related to renewable energy and experimental heat/mass transfer.
