1. Proficiency classes for Competitive Programming

The department organizes special classes for improving proficiency in Competitive Programming under the supervision of Dr. J.K. Chhabra.  These special classes are held beyond Institute working hours in each semester.  The interested students are grouped into two categories:  Beginners & advanced and separate classes are held regularly for both groups.

Some of the final year’s sharp students guide their juniors in these classes on all major topics needed for competitive programming as well as reputed programming.  These classes are being organized regularly since last 5 years & due to these programming skills of the students have improved significantly.

ACM-ICPC Contest: The students of the department are regularly participating in most reputed ACM-Inter Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) & Performing very well in all rounds.  Each year, more than 10 teams participate in ACM-ICPC Contests of Kanpur, Chennai, Kharagpur, Amritapuri & Gwalior.
