AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT:
The department aims to integrate the humanistic values and social concerns with technical education. Its major objectives are to train students in the fields of Communication Skills, Economics, Management and Psychology. The department also endeavors to strengthen the research potential of students in social sciences discipline.

Selection in UPSC
One research scholar Ms. Aditi Mor got selected in Indian Information Service via UPSC civil services examination 2015 and is currently Assistant Director (Probation), training in Delhi. She also got selected in UPSC civil services examination 2016 and attained All India rank 277 for the same.
