Dr. Amit Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra, India. He joined the institute in July 2025. He earned his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India, in 2021, where his doctoral research focused on high-speed VLSI interconnects and circuit design. Before joining NIT Kurukshetra, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, for over three years. At PDEU, Dr. Kumar played a pivotal role as Faculty-in-Charge in the development and establishment of the Centre of Excellence in Semiconductors. Earlier, he also held academic positions at NIT Delhi, VIT Bhopal, DCRUST Murthal, Sonepat, and NCU Gurugram.
Dr. Kumar received his M.Tech. in VLSI Design (Gold Medal) from NIT Kurukshetra in 2012 and his B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from MDU Rohtak in 2010. His current research interests include Advanced VLSI Design, Nanoelectronics, and Semiconductor Technology.
