My main research interests are in the field of power system stability and control of the new grid specifically in the following areas :

1. Power system dynamics and control with integrated renewable energy resources and storage. 2. Power system transient stability analysis/ modelling based on energy function and structure preserving based method. 3. The integrated modelling of power system for Transient stability and small signal stability analysis based on Model order Reduction (MOR). 4. Real time frequency based reduced order modelling of large power grid. 5. Application of machine learning algorithm in Power Systems dynamics and control studies. 6. Hybrid Power system inertia estimation and control. 7. Bus inertia estimation to enhance the grid dynamic flexibility of hybrid power systems.

( I was the lead researcher for a collaborative research project between Manitoba Hydro International, Canada, MIT, Cambridge, USA, UAE TRANSCO and Masdar Institute. The main objective of this project was to make an online suitable tool for stability assessment, visualization and enhancement (SAVE tool) for the UAE power system with renewable energy integration. Moreover, our developed tool received a first-place R&D award from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure from top 53 projects around the world) .

(I worked at Duke Energy’s most prestigious Smart Grid Laboratory, EPIC (Energy Production and Infrastructure Center). My research was on grid studies with hybrid renewable energy resources (wind) and storage, advanced power grid control, dynamics, model order reduction and stability. I was also the lead researcher for the Hybrid real-time simulator-based advanced modeling of the Southern California Edison grid project).
