To support their duties, security personnel are equipped with dedicated vehicles, including Gypsies and bicycles, for patrolling both on and off-campus. The security staff is responsible for monitoring the campus perimeter, gates, static posts, and conducting regular patrols of the campus.

A 24/7 Mobile Security Control Room, equipped with advanced technologies, ensures rapid response to service calls and enhances the efficiency of security operations. Key technologies in use include:

  • 240 CCTV cameras installed across the campus to ensure the safety of students, staff, and institute property.
  • Round-the-clock security presence at all campus entry points, where guards inspect vehicles before entry.
  • Security Helpline: 90346-51015
  • Wireless Communication systems for constant coordination.

The Security Section maintains direct communication with local emergency services such as the local Police, Fire Brigade, and nearby Hospitals.

Adopting a community-based approach, the Security Section works to prevent crime, assist victims, and investigate incidents in collaboration with campus authorities and law enforcement agencies. It partners with departments such as Works and the Health Centre to ensure a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff, enabling a positive academic and social experience. The section also works closely with student representatives, faculty, and staff via the NIT Employees Union, Officers Association, and Faculty Forum.

Each year, the Security Section conducts security and safety awareness training for incoming students during the Orientation session.

The entire team at the Security Section welcomes you to NIT Kurukshetra and is committed to ensuring your safety during your time here. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns.
